The Young Assyrians Hosts Inspiring Community Panel - 14th June 2025
On Saturday, 14 June 2025, the Young Assyrians (TYA) proudly hosted a special panel discussion featuring distinguished leaders from the Assyrian–Australian community.
We were honoured to welcome:
Mr. Hermiz Shahen, President of the Assyrian National Council – Australia Inc. (ANCA)
Mrs. Nora Michael, President of the Assyrian Aid Society Australia (AASA)
Clr. Charbel Saliba, Councillor at Fairfield City Council
Mr. Johnson Ashak, community advocate
Each of our esteemed guests shared invaluable experiences, heartfelt stories, and insights drawn from years of dedicated service to the Assyrian community. Their reflections on leadership, perseverance, and community advocacy resonated deeply with our youth and offered meaningful guidance for the next generation of aspiring leaders.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our guests for their time, wisdom, and encouragement. Dialogues such as this empower young Assyrians to step forward with confidence and responsibility, inspired by the legacy and dedication of those who came before them.
The Young Assyrians remain committed to building these bridges between generations, fostering leadership, and working together for the advancement and prosperity of the Assyrian community.


Assyria Day Conference 2025 -
This year’s Assyria Day Conference was held on 30 June 2025, organised by the Young Assyrians, in collaboration with the Assyrian National Council of Australia. The event stood as a powerful testament to our community’s unity, resilience, and determination to safeguard our heritage while addressing the challenges of today.
We extend our deepest appreciation to the Young Assyrians for their outstanding work in planning and delivering this important occasion. Their professionalism, commitment, and vision created an inspiring program that both honoured our history and highlighted the urgent issues facing the Assyrian nation. Their leadership gives us great confidence in the bright future of our people.
We were privileged to welcome distinguished guests from the Federal, State, and Local governments.


Assyria Day 2025 Conference in Melbourne
The Young Assyrians, subsidiaries of the Assyrian National Council – Australia Inc. (ANCA), proudly hosted the Assyria Day 2025 Conference on Sunday, 6 July, at Mona Lisa Receptions in Melbourne.
The conference brought together community members, leaders, and youth for an inspiring and memorable event that celebrated Assyrian heritage while addressing the pressing challenges and future aspirations of our nation. It was a powerful demonstration of unity, vision, and commitment to strengthening the voice of the Assyrian people in Australia and worldwide.
We extend our deepest appreciation to the TYA Victoria Committee for their remarkable effort and dedication in organising this event. Their commitment ensured a successful and meaningful gathering that empowered our youth and inspired all attendees.
Through initiatives such as this, the Young Assyrians and ANCA continue to nurture the next generation of leaders and reaffirm our shared values, resilience, and determination to work toward a brighter future for the Assyrian nation.
