Transparency Statement
The Assyrian National Council – Australia Inc. (ANCA) is committed to serving the Assyrian-Australian community with accountability, integrity, and openness. This page has been created to provide our community, partners, and stakeholders with a clear understanding of how we operate and how we remain accountable.

As an incorporated association in the state of New South Wales (NSW), we adhere to the rules set out in our Constitution (also known as our bylaws) and the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW).

Financials

To uphold our commitment to transparency, the ANCA prepares and presents detailed financial statements to its board members during regular board meetings, as well as to our ordinary members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). These statements provide an accurate and clear picture of the Association’s financial position, outlining income, expenditure, assets, and liabilities.

Through this process, the association's members are kept informed and involved in the financial stewardship of the organisation, in accordance with our compliance and regulatory obligations. As an organisation that receives ongoing government funding, the ANCA has exercised due diligence and continues to meet all associated reporting and governance requirements, including the submission of any necessary financial reports directly to funding agencies as part of contractual obligations.

In addition to our internal reporting practices, the organisation’s finances are managed by an independent accounting firm. Although not legally required to do so, the ANCA also voluntarily engages in external audits from time to time; to ensure full accountability and financial integrity.

As a volunteer-led organisation, the ANCA’s board members and office bearers do not receive any financial compensation for their service. Their commitment is driven by a shared dedication to the advancement of the Assyrian-Australian community.

Ethical Governance and Disclosures

As part of our governance framework, the ANCA upholds a strong culture of disclosure and ethical decision-making. All board members are required to declare any potential or perceived conflicts of interest in line with our internal policies.

Where such interests arise, appropriate steps are taken— such as recusal from discussions or decisions —to ensure impartiality and to protect the integrity of the organisation’s operations. This approach ensures that all decisions are made objectively, with the best interests of the community as the guiding principle.

The ANCA operates with full confidence under the oversight of NSW Fair Trading and remains committed to best practice standards of transparency and accountability.

Community Feedback and Enquiries

The ANCA values the trust and support of the community we serve. Should any members of the public have genuine enquiries, concerns, or feedback regarding our operations, we encourage them to contact us directly in writing.

Our team is committed to addressing all queries respectfully and in accordance with our governance framework.
