SYDNEY, NSW – 21/052025: The Assyrian National Council - Australia Inc. (ANCA) firmly rejects recent allegations circulated on social media, including claims of financial mismanagement and misuse of funds. These claims are categorically false and without basis.
As a recipient of government grants, the ANCA complies with strict financial reporting and disclosure obligations. All financial transactions are transparently reported at Board Meetings, Annual General Meetings (AGMs), and lodged with our regulator, NSW Fair Trading.
The ANCA already maintains a dedicated Transparency page on its website providing its members and the broader community with comprehensive information on the organisation’s financial procedures, governance protocols, and reporting processes. This information can be accessed here: www.ancau.org/transparency.
All appointments to the Board of Directors have been made in accordance with the ANCA’s governance procedures, with Board approval and in the presence of the organisation’s legal advisor, to ensure leadership continuity during a transitional period. The ANCA remains committed to serving its members and the broader Assyrian-Australian community with accountability, integrity, and transparency.
We recognise that public trust is essential to the work we do, and we remain focused on fostering unity, strengthening social cohesion, and building a future guided by the shared values of respect and service. While we welcome open dialogue, we will not allow misinformation or baseless accusations to distract from our mission or divide our community.
